    3. So, if someone paid you $400,000 to be president, you'd turn it down? <G> Look, Jack, I keep telling you to move because you've given so many good reasons why you should be unhappy there. One of the biggest is the state and city you live in--your relationship with them seems to be one similar to an abused wife who keeps going back. And you've talked about a lot of things that go on in your neighborhood that indicate it is not that best place for Kade. Just in the past week you've mentioned problems with a kid whose mom is extremely unstable and today, another kid who's a manipulative loser who plays head trips with Kade. And then you talk about wishing you had a gun to protect you from a home invasion. That's not a common problem in most towns. (A gun wouldn't help you anyway, BTW--unless you plan to keep a loaded gun handy in a drawer where a child could find it. The element of surprise doesn't allow much time for reaction.) From what you're saying, this place that has treated you so badly, kept you in prison 27 years with a too-harsh sentence, and since then tells you what jobs you can't hold and keeps trying to knock you down with a variety of challenges is the one place on earth that gives you the warm and fuzzies. So, all I can figure is harsh times must be your comfort zone. And if that's the case I guess you're living exactly as you want to. And because of that, no large money offer would tempt you. Nor any better place with fewer problems and nicer neighbors. You're living exactly as you see yourself. And if that makes you happy, then that's fine. Well, from what I read in a magazine today while waiting in a doctor's office I will have to raise that figure to $641,900.00 a year. The pay scale is derived by totaling the average salaries of 17 occupations that a multi-tasking homemaker performs during the course of a year, including executive chef ($64,000), child care worker ($15,400), psychologist ($47,000), housekeeper ($14,600), management analyst ($56,500), and animal caretaker ($17,200). The U.S. President makes $400,000 a year, but he don't have to cook or take care of the animals.
