    1. [BSChat] Mother's Day
    2. I have always appreciated Mother's Day. When I was a child we would make special gifts and cards in school to give to our Moms. Usually our painted handprints, a salt dough pinched pot, something with yarn. I always loved that. My ma was a practicing alcoholic at the time, but I NEVER would have not made/given her something. She is in NO way perfect, but you only get one Mom, and I love her. I didn't understand or appreciate why we went to the cemetery every Mother's Day to place camellias on my dads mom's grave. I knew she had passed on, that he loved and missed her, but I was just too young to understand. I just had to send my husband and kids out kicking and screaming to go get me (AND his Mother!) a card to have for tomorrow. I guess things have changed. Anything that is made at school is split with the stepmother. They ignored my bday this past Wednesday, but not Mother's day! I think kids should remember their Mom's. I shouldn't have to raise my voice to make them remember. We are a pretty happy family, too. They don't hate me, but probably resent me right now. Sorry for venting-please remember you Mom's tomorrow, even if they aren't perfect. I will be placing camellias on my grandmothers grave, flowers from the same bush she planted 50 years ago.
