My husband is on Paxil and 2 different kinds of BP medicine. I don't agree with it, I think that is definitely overmedicating. How can you wean someone off it? Terri
well - first you have to start doing something else - get the BP to drop below 120/80 by diet/exercise - see the mayo clinic website for great diet recommendations or the American heart assn. Find ideal heart rate and start exercising - there are guidelines for how to start based on your health/ age/ activity level. Walking is the best to start with. Record your exercise, diet, and BP readings weekly - then go to the DR and ask for a BP med change or reduction. If DR doesn't want to start reducing BP meds - get 2nd opinion! ----- Original Message ----- From: <HBalc27124@aol.com> To: <BLACKSHEEP-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 08, 2002 7:45 AM Subject: Re: [BSChat] Re: Meds > My husband is on Paxil and 2 different kinds of BP medicine. Also try bio-feedback, and do not use iodized salt. Use sea salt or Kosher salt. There are studies that show raw celery (4 ribs in the daily diet), help to control high BP. ----- Original Message ----- From: HBalc27124@aol.com To: BLACKSHEEP-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, May 08, 2002 8:45 AM Subject: Re: [BSChat] Re: Meds My husband is on Paxil and 2 different kinds of BP medicine.
