Sometimes a child's "need" to be attended is superceeded by other events, and the child will tantrum, resulting in a behavior like this. It isn't always a lack of proper parental attention, but often a "controlling" act of behavior designed to force attention. The resulting attention should apply to the situation, and discoiurage further acts of "attention getting", only because the future "attention getting" will be MORE serious with each event.
