You mean your relatives or Germans in general, back then? My Germans didn't believe in ghosts. Can't recall much in the way of superstitions. Some folk lore, but that's about it. I wonder if it had to do with religious ties, catholic or protestant??? I don't know, just guessing. Their culture didn't differ much by locality within Germany, except perhaps in that one way.
