The part I couldn't stand was singeing off the pinfeathers. Feathers smelt bad enough, but burning those pinfeathers was MUCH worse! For many years I wouldn't eat (much less cook) chicken! After I married, though, the wife & kids loved chicken, but I had to teach the wife how to do it!
