As children mature they see their horizons expanding, which also means more responsibility, and sometimes this new found "freedom' and responsibility scares them, so they regress a little. Kind of a putting on the brakes to slow down something that is coming at them too fast. I think it is normal for children to regress from time to time. Heck, I have seen adults regress under times of stress. The curling up in a little ball and wanting the world go away when you experience a traumatic experience, that kind of thing. I think I was 27 years old before I quit wanting someone else to take over the reins and drive for awhile. Jack Childers in OKC
