    3. There was recently an interview on one of the news magazine shows of a convicted child molester. He will be getting out in the next few years - even if he is not paroled. He said - "I am afraid I will do this again. I don't know how to deal with the lust I feel for children. I should not be allowed back into society. " What can we do about this man, and others - they have served their time, but their problem is psychological - prison time does not abate their desire for sexual contact with children. If more people went to the local police department, with a list of people - a long list, and asked about all of them, eventually the list of offenders would be posted somewhere - police departments can not hire someone to just stand there and tell people if someone is a registered sex offender or not. Encourage your neighbors to call their local "Community Policing" department and see what they plan on doing to keep your community safe, or call the Chief of Police, or the Mayor, go to the elected official who appoints your police chief or sheriff and let them know this is important. This is why our county publishes the list quarterly in the paper. Because they got tired of listening to us - we ELECT our Sheriff, he did not want the bad publicity, so we get a published list in addition to the State run website.
