Sharon, jan is pretty much 100% right (get that head swelling down jan), every now and then I have freezes and crashes, and have recently reformatted, I have 8gig hard drive and 128k ram memory, get everything off the Pc that you don't use or need, and save all your stuff to disc, Cd is good cos it stores more than floppy, save your favourites folder etc, print off anything you can etc, then take the cover off the CPU, mine falls off easily! and get teh hoover around the fan and heat sink get rid of dust that does accumlate whatever you do to try and prevent it. I can't comment on prices of rnew stuff, its darned expensive by US standards over this side of the pond. reformatting is a drag, but does put the PC back to "day one" and you can start afresh installing stuff. I am also running windows 98, and have no wish to change, never got to grips with win 2000, its more "office" style, and XP has a few gremlins left to be ironed out yet. beofre spending a lot of cash, that may or may not be within your budget, try the reformatting, and if its still a problem then look at a new PC, I doubt ath tsupport for 98 will die out for at least 3 years, after all win 95 is 7 years old now!
