If I didn't periodically leave out little lids full of beer, I wouldn't have any hyacinth, irises or any other of the delicious flowers slugs are so fond of. The beer attracts them, they crawl in and drown. If they would only sign the pledge they wouldn't die...so I don't feel so bad. The problem with CA is that it doesn't get cold enough to control the populations and the mulch we put down to save water, gives them a very nice place to spend the winters and the summers.
