This poem is so nice for this time of year, we owe our mothers a lot. gn ----- Original Message ----- From: Patsy To: BLACKSHEEP-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2003 3:49 PM Subject: [BSChat] A Mother's Love -- by Helen Steiner Rice "A Mother's Love" A Mother's love is something that no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it or take that love away... It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, and it never fails or faulters even though the heart is breaking... It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems... It is far beyond defining, It defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation... A many splendored miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence Of God's tender guiding hand. That is a beautiful poem, thanks so much for sharing it. I know I don't have to say this, but to all of you who have a mother who really fits this description, treasure her. I would have no idea what a good mother is, had I not had a wonderful grandmother and I knew then and certainly realize even more now, just how fortunate I was and what a treasure she was and is, even though she's been gone for 31 yrs. My grannie, Ida Mae Estoria Akins Nobles, or Miss Ida Mae as she was known.
