My brother has lived with a ghost for about 25 years. A little old lady that comes to check up on them once in a while, they think it is the previous owner of their house. When the kids were little she would check to see if they had kicked out of the covers, if so she let my brother and his wife know. She let them see a lightness where she would be, never completely materialized for them, but you could catch her out of the corner of your eye. They didn't care that she lived with them, she just became a member of the family, and she comes and goes whenever she wants to.
