We had the award ceremony today for David. He was given the Youth Volunteer of The Year Award today. The committee met at his high school, along with TV and newspaper coverage. After we were all gathered they sent for him from one of his classes and he walked into the high school office to face a huge crowd of people and bright lights. He got a plaque, a balloon bouquet and a bouquet of flowers, a Volunteer Of America T-Shirt and the Food Pantry, where he volunteers, got a thousand dollar check. Then we all trooped over to the Food Pantry, which just sits across the street from David's school, and they shot more film of David doing some of his work. The TV coverage will be on OKC News Channel 9 at 5:00 pm tonight, and the newspaper article will be in the Daily Oklahoman tomorrow morning. If you watch closely you will see me hovering around here and there, I am wearing black slacks with a black and grey stripped long sleeved dress shirt, beautiful bald head !!!
