That car PURRED, and although not too fast off the line, redlined at 8,000 RPM, had 90 HP, and was easy at 165 mph. I outran a Arkansas Highway patrolman about three AM once. (I had to get from Abilene Texas to Missouri in three and a half hours) I did it, but I drove BACK slowly. They freaked out when I registered it in california, th VIN number was MAZRX7003PROTO. It didn't fit their "standard codes for Mazda cars." I drove it from abilene to Chicago, and from there to Los Angeles, and I had trouble crossing the rockies, it is oil injected, and the oil line to the Carburator clogged. I had to stop in Jan's home town for repairs. The dealer freaked too. It looks just like an 1980, but NOTHING is standard under the hood. Jeffery G.
