My kids, for the most part, had it all...living & traveling in foreign countries, servants, private schools. And I was always handing them money for this and that, and later on, their college tuitions. I bought them their first cars...they had mega clothes. They also took piano lessons on a Grand piano, and I bought son Steve a $500.00 Gibson guitar in the 70's (one of many guitars ~oo`) Son Kyle played sports, and every time I turned around it was $150.00 for baseball & football shoes, uniforms, equipment (20) years ago. And I took my daughter to the original Woodstock, in my 240Z auto. But you know, all of that goodness from me to them, stuck. The have grown-up to be wonderful, productive adults. They are all kind, they work hard, and they own nice homes & cars....and best of all, the all adore me... their "wee Mum..." But they also fear me....I have the Scot-Irish temper... It's called "setting an example for your children." Anyway, spoil your Kade....she'll be a better girl because of it. I was raised on one hand that happiness existed in the heart and soul and not in the pocket book, then my mother got me for awhile and taught me that happiness is the almighty dollar. Confused me, but I think the almighty dollar concept stuck because I become decidedly unstable when poor ! > >Children of affluent parents are very often unprepared to handle money because it has no meaning to them, being so readily available all the time. My sister and I talk all the time about how our children are spoiled rotten because they have everything they ever wanted. The didn't have to do without like she and I did. There are times I think I should take every thing away from Kade and give her some cardboard boxes and a stick to play with. > >Jack Childers in OKC > > >==== BLACKSHEEP-CHAT Mailing List ==== >Unsubscribe from the list: >Mailto:Blacksheep-Chat-L-request@rootsweb.com?subject=unsubscribe&body=unsu bscribe > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
