Hi Jim, I just had a new roof put on both house and garage. Norton Brothers...... They are not the cheapest but their reputation is the best. They have been around as long as I can remember.. They don't use staples like most but real galvanized 1-1/2" nails over one layer of old roof. More than one layer, they have to tear it off, and of course that costs more. They showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would, did the house in one day and got all but 7 courses on the garage the next day but quit for the dangerous wind so finished up the third day. Also did some extras for me with no further charge. I would hire them again without hesitation.....E T..... If you call them, please mention that I sent them to you.....Thanks..... ----- Original Message ----- From: stargazer To: Elmo Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2003 12:26 PM Subject: Roofer Hi Elwyn, Hey do you know of any good roofers? Hi all, 65 and breezy in central Florida this a.m. Have an interview for a job this morning and another for tomorrow. Maybe things will pick up here and I can get out on my own again. Am glad in a way that I am not in New York City now with all this stuff going on and security issues. I still miss the Big Apple a lot though seeing green grass and the pine trees swaying in the breeze is wonderful. Jeanne Reply to: jccongdon@desoto.net

You're right and we can't talk about what is really on our minds. Sorry, I can't help you other than to suggest that you take your puter to a professional repairman. I'll wager that your file is in there somewhere. I don't care if they are not American Citizens, if they want to live in our country and enjoy our freedoms then they should have to go to the war and fight for them just the same as our boys and girls have to. They should also have to learn and speak our language. Shelby Hi, sorry but I can't help you because I haven't had to look up that type of info yet, but with all the incarcerated blacksheep ancestors in this list someone must have some ideas. Also I'm not familiar with US terminology regarding the law and penitentiary names etc. I even have trouble remembering all the state abreviations. Have you been to any of the genealogy sites at all or you could try searching google etc by typing in the words genealogy incarcerated. Lucinda. PS You might find that right now people are understanderbly preoccupied with keeping up on the news, especially those with family overseas.
First let me say hello, and welcome, I'm Chnea, But I get called Yoyo. I too had to do the same thing, but I had to fine out why he was murred and how he died. Well I did. On his wife's death, he was incarcerated, but he got to leave. THATS NEWS. contact the newspaper of Bradshaw, WV and see who has the film, and if your close, go and view them, if not there, most likely in a genealogy center. So contact them and see if they will view ( give them the date) and ask the to look back, to see if they come up with his name. The court house might have something too. My search is in Logan, WV. If they really did something bad, they got sent to Moundsville, WV And I'm having a hard time finding who kept the records there. Look up Moundsville, WV, you'll seethe give tours now. Or type in Bradshaw, WV, and you might fine a genealogy center, that will help you, It must have been something very bad or emmbarssing to the family, if they all took it to their grave. And are you ready for the truth, It can be shocking. Sorry spelling stinks, but ya get the point Yoyo
I'm glad spring has sprung for all you good people over there. Here we are going into autumn, my mum just buried my bulbs yesterday. Here is a real scavenger hunt type site. It is at www.deadfred.com . Dead Freds is created by a man that collected photos as a hobby and when the net happened he put them all online for people to be able to search and claim them. There are many with names and places and many without. He also has annuals there. You can also add to the collection if you have photos with no home. It is also searchable. Lucind.
Lets not blame FEDEX for that exploding package: it was filled with "dry ice" (frozen CO2) to keep the contents frozen, and it burst because the sender bound it so tightly that the gas buildup had no venting. It should have had a "DRY ICE" label and a vent. And the Rootsweb policy of no political discussion is very stressful to us Canucks, cause we like to mock our politicians when we are tired of talking about the crappy weather.
Hello List, I am new to this list and hope that I am following procedures. I am hopeful that someone can help me. I have tried other areas, but have not been able to find an explanation as of yet. I am looking for the reason that my husbands' grandfather, James Thomas Myers, b1885, who was married, and was incarcerated at the time of his wife's death on 18 Feb. 1935. At the time he lived in Bradshaw, McDowell County, WV. He was allowed to leave the facility in which he was being held to attend her funeral. No one seems to know the reason for the incarceration nor the amount of time he was there. All of his children are now gone and no one ever passed on to us the reason, nor did anyone wish to discuss it before they passed away. Surely, there is someplace or someone who could help to find the reason for this incarceration. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I may be able to look? I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks for allowing me to state my position. Shelby
For your amusement and amazement..... The Associated Press reported in the New York Times that a package containing West Nile virus exploded on Tuesday night (March 18) at a Federal Express building in Columbus, Ohio. Fifty workers were evacuated. Looks like we don't need any terrorists... we've got FedEx (who I have a grudge against anyway).... I haven't noticed any stickers, but my camelias are blooming.....all shades of red ones, pink ones, coral ones and they all have yellow centers. This has been one of the real treats of moving to GA. Camelias are hothouse plants where I was in MD. :) Patricia In a message dated 3/20/03 1:14:33 PM, fairplay51@yahoo.com writes: << Anybody on here know what kind of bush has bright red blossoms and a yellow center to the blossoms.
