I have just returned after getting a new computer and learning how to operate it. And many messages were scrambled and not coming through. But here I am in all my tired, weary glory. Still unable to find my FAULK ancestors from Dooly County, GA. I did find a Marshall Faulk, in the 1920 GA census. helped but not much. Happy researching and good finds to all.
Congratulations Grandma. Someone gave me a birth date for the ggfather--I took bad notes "back then" when I first started out, so have no idea where it came from--and I decided to contact the county that I had written down (Hancock Co., OH)...lo and behold, there is a birth record on file for ggfather Augustus Frank Williams, born in 1878! Very pleased, and wrote an official request (with check, of course) to get a copy. While I have his parents' names, I don't have any further info on them. I picked thru the entire Hancock Co. 1880 census looking for them, but no luck. They ended up in MI eventually, but I don't know when they left OH. Don't know whether to pick thru census reports for surrounding counties, or hang it up until I figure out something else. (The birth record doesn't give much info on the parents, other than names.) > > Anyway, I hope the rest of you aren't suffering too much with bad weather, and that those who've written about their personal challenges (health and otherwise) are doing better.
