    3. Let me clarify the rule on religion. The rule doesn't prohibit the discussion of the religious aspects of genealogy or of living, but seeks to avoid evangelism on the list. The current discussion, religious support and "faith" are important to dealing with a blacksheep situation. I am in favor of prayer ( but not publically posted on a GENEALOGY LIST) and any support we can offer to our members including the recommendation of relgious support. CAUION the details shuld NOT be posted on-list, the archives are "forever", and publically viewable. Jeff

How does one survive through an ordeal like this? I know I can pray, but my heart is broke." Well, probably............dunno if you don't tell us what exactly the situation is tho............. Since most of us have applied to the black sheep list, serious trouble with family is not really all that uncommon to us whether way in the past or current............ I saw my brother in law on the six o'clock news spread over the hood of a truck with hand cuffs , close up and all.......and for the first time in our lives they managed to say our last name correctly.......go figure......... and that is the mild stuff. We all have kin or close friends who have had awful things happen from murder to extreme mental illness related situations............depends on what you are talking about. e

    3. Sandra's Charity & Unity nicknames got me thinking about nicknames...I know we shared some a few weeks ago when I was trying to find out whether Sadie would be a nickname for Sarah. Does anyone have an ancestor (heck, maybe even yourself!) with a funny/strange/whatever nickname? My grandma's name is Myra, and my grandpa's sisters have always called her "Myrrh." Grandma laughs and says she's a gift, all right. Sue G.

    3. My son has always known how I feel about that girl and thank God he has never turned on me. We have had our arguments with me usually hanging up on him, but we still get along. He has now admitted that I was right all along and that he should have listened to me. Too late now, but that was his lesson to learn. I never had a Mother in law. She died when my ex-husband was only 15 and I did not meet him until he was 19. He still claims she would have loved me, but I don't know about that. Don't you know that is what grandparents are for is spoiling? Hehehe. I do it with mine too as much as I can, as I have 13 grandchildren and 1 GGrandson and am living off a very small ammount of disability now. I would never go so far as to ask mine about arguments or sex though. I proud myself on being the best Mother in law that I can be, I have had 3 son's in law at one time and have only 1 daughter in law. My son is my only son. None of them so far has commented on my being a bad one. Thank God. Of course, I would be the mother in law from hell if my son were to ever get a chance to marry this girl. I love my daughter in law like one of my own and anyone hurts any of my kids I fight back. I have never said anything about the way my grandchildren's Fathers treat them, but one time, and I felt I had to step in for my oldest grandson one time only. His Father is his step father. His little brother is his stepfather's real son. Of course he treats the two of them diffferently letting Andrew, the youngest, get away with everything and blaming Aaron for everything under the sun. One day when we were at their home for the weekend, Aaron was laying on his back on the living room floor watching tv with the rest of us and my daughter was in the kitchen. Andrew jumped on Aaron's stomach as hard as he could. Robbie started to blame Aaron for it saying he had done something to Andrew to make him do that. Well, I was watching them the entire time and saw what really happened. I told Robbie that I had been watching and had never taken my eye off them for a second and that Aaron had not done anything at all to Andrew. Robbie did not say another word to Aaron the rest of the day, but needless to say Andrew still got away with hurting his big brother, which was wrong. 3. Yes it certainly does belong in that category. When my son asked me why this was happening to him I told him, " Think about it, what did you do to your wife?" "Now it is payback time." Believe me it hurt me more to have to say that to him than it did him, but it was the truth. He has 4 children now and when he becomes a grandparent, he certainly will fit into the Blacksheep category for his descendants, having been in prison for the first three years of his oldest son's life, in jail for a year of his daughters second year of life, facing another prison sentence now, in and out of jail since he was 15 and a philandering husband to boot having a child with his mistress. Yep a real blacksheep in my opiniion. He even called this girl his Fiancee and he is not even divorced form his wife. Yep payback big time. Even after all he has done his wife still loves him and would love to have him back. I hope he wises up and accepts her and forgets the mistress. Even after all the jail and prison time, being in jail for the birth of 2 of his children has not stopped her from loving him and being faithful to him. Well, I guess that falls into the 'What Goes Around Comes Around' category. I can certainly understand where you're coming from, Mary Anne. Having been on the receiving end of a philandering (ex) spouse, in my experience, I'd have to say that it usually takes two in order for that type of situation to occur. > Cheer up, somewhere on down the road there's going to be someone that will do to that young lady what she's been doing to others......
