    3. I think our overall medical health profession/providers/drugs, etc. need a serious revamping...98% of doctors don't seem to have the time to *care* anymore...and their sloppy in keeping track of what's going on. Their offices over-book appointments. It's basically a mess. One thing for sure...the MAKE A LOT OF $$$!! I could tell a lot of personal experiences, but I think we all know the scoop. I will tell you one. I took my Mom with me to our Dr. last fall for a "general check" and blood tests. The hospital lab mixed our blood up, because we both have the first name *Stella.* Her name is Stella M. Dunlap, mine is Stella J. Curtis. A lab tech. called me & said they didn't know which viles of blood were her's, and which were mine...~~ That we would have to have more blood drawn! DAMNED IGNORANT FOOLS! I went down to the hospital Risk Mgmt. office to report it. The very proper, prim, Manager, walked out & took me to the conference room. Her 1st words were: "Well, there seems to be a probluuum?" And I said: "Yes...you have lab technicians who can't read names correctly....so let's get straight to point. I'm not here to bat words around with you, nor do I play games about right or wrong, and I'm not here talking to you because I'm bored at home & have nothing better to do. You're lab technicians messed up & mixed-up my 85 yr. old Mom's blood & mine...and what are YOU going to do about it?" My Gold earrings were a lot bigger than hers... I ended-up walking across the street with her to the hospital lab, and after much ado, they just said the name *Stella* confused them... And I told them all in the lab: "If the name Stella confuses you, just think how confused you're going to be when I sue this hospital for hiring incompetent, air-head employees..." 3. Hi, Sheepers! A friend sent me this one - just sharing. I don't know that I can honestly agree with all of it 100%, because a lot of 'churchy' folk get into some very tricky and even criminal situations. Just look at the pedophile priests, the Jim Bakkers, and Jimmy Swaggarts. It's sort of like does military school build character - questions like that. --------- I had a "drug" problem when I was a young person and teenager. I was "drug" to church on Sunday morning - I was "drug" to church on Sunday night I was "drug" to church on Wednesday night - I was "drug" to Sunday School every week - I was "drug" to Vacation Bible School I was "drug" to the family altar to read the bible and pray. I was also "drug" to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents. Those "drugs" are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in every thing I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack or heroin. If our children had this "drug" problem, America would certainly be a better place. ----------------- Well - maybe in an ideal world. 3. Well, Ava, Melungeon is classified as tri-racial (part European, part Native American, part either North African or from the Turkish Plateau known as Anatolia). They were first discovered in North American during the VERY early English explorations into the interior. When discovered, they spoke a very poor version of Elizabethan English, and claimed to be "Portugee" which was Elizabethan English for "foreign", not Portuguese. The Native Americans claimed no relationship, couldn't understand their language, and their dwellings were often made of stone, and had unusual shaped windows. It has been hypothesized that they were either from the "lost colony of the English" or were put ashore from a Spanish ship of exploration, and intermarried with the Native Americans. They weren't truly black, their lips were thin, and they had a few unusual physical characteristics (which many of us have even after 4 centuries or more). For more info, you can either contact me directly, or type the word "Melungeon" into any search engine, and come up with a number of interesting sites. Now of course, there's shipping and handling. 8) A husband is someone who after taking out the trash, gives the impression he just cleaned the whole house. 9) My next house will have no kitchen--just vending machines and a large trash can. 10) The only thing wrong with a beautiful drive to work is that you still end up at work. 11) Americans are getting stronger. 50 years ago you needed a station wagon to hold $10.00 worth of groceries. 20 years ago it took two people to carry $10.00 worth of groceries. Now, a five year old can do it. 12) A blonde said: " I was worried that my mechanic might try to rip me off, I was relieved when he said all I needed was turn signal fluid." 13) I'm so depressed.......My doctor refused to write me a prescription for Viagra. 1. [BSChat] Time Team again
    2. Mellie
    3. Sheeps, you would love the TV programme that I have just watched on this very wet May day! (always rains on bank holiddays here!) it was time Team, the history of Britain, it was just superb, the programme was over an hour long, with snippets of stuff they have done over the 8 years the programme has been running, they didn't do pre-historic stuff, they started with ANGLO-SAXON Britian, moved on to the NORMANS, STUARTS,TUDORS,EDWARDIANS, VICTORIANS, and ended on a programme I remember watching, and had tears in my eyes again, it ended in a field in Calais France, where they dug up a spitfire shot down on its first mission, the whole plane was retrieved, it hit the ground nose first and compacted into itself, the whole thing was less than 5 feet long! the Pilots remains were carefully, and respectfully taken away, and brought back to England for his burial by family members, inculding his sister, a very poignent moments viewing! Within the program they visited Nevis in the Caribbean, where the Pinney family from Bristol had the largest sugar plantation and "employed" 1000 slaves! they went to Maryland USA and recreated a landing jetty and sailing ship of the forefathers, and even dug up a grave in Maryland just off the jetty, one of he first English Settlers in the US!!! (DNA proven) I wish the US networks would get this series, or that it went to Discovery Channel too, I just know that you would be as rivetted as I was today! The final words of the Presenter, Tony Robinson (Baldrick of Blackadder, do you get Blackadder?) summed up the essence of the programme, he said that the programme objective was to record the history of the everyday men and women who made us the way we are today, who did nothing to be recorded specificaly in history books, but who lived and worked to shape Britain through the ages, and who toiled the land, fought the wars, marvelled at the industrial innovations, and who are our forefathers! 3. Whilst getting really ticked off with Nebuchanezzer i thought I wiould attack another line see what gives on it as I have a marriage certificate to work from, WOW, I have just leapt 4 generations back! only a genealogist thinks a step backwars is progress so they say LOL, all I have to do now is check the details on the St catherines index of BMD, then off to the records office for confirmation from Parish records, once I have got things sorted around here (having to re-decorate due to the flood etc) I am gonna set myself the target of buying a marraige certificate each week, for the direct lines and then the accompanying birth and death certificates, I have a few, and photocopies of some too, but genie without documents of your own is only theory, so they say. 3. I looked around a little. I've only found one mention of breathing problems and it was in reference to an overdose. The more interesting part has to do with using the fentanyl patch (transdermal systemic) and it's sensitivity to heat: "Heat can cause the fentanyl in the patch to be absorbed into your body faster. This may increase the chance of serious side effects or an overdose. While you are using this medicine, do not use a heating pad, a sunlamp, or a heated water bed, and do not take sunbaths or long baths or *showers in hot water*. Also, check with your health care professional if you get a fever." I'm wondering if A. J. took a hot shower that led to an overdose. I wonder how many people may not be getting instructions on this patch and its heat sensitivity. Some people are more sensitive to things like this drug than others--maybe A. J. was one of them. Also, a different aspect--a study was done that shows that fentanyl use leads to a "long term" hyper-sensitivity to pain, the more you use it. A rebound affect. It's also a narcotic, an opiate. Gives a mild high, and there's concern that those in the medical industry may start using it for that reason. wow, what a swell drug!
