    3. Aleta, This isn't about punishment. My only concern is for the others he may still be hurting. You can prevent him from being successful in hurting others. You don't have to file charges. You don't have to take him to court. All you have to do is make sure that everyone knows what he has done to you. A big ad in the newspaper. Speaking only of what you know for sure, first hand. And if he chooses to take you to court, fine. Having it out in the open may make it easier for others to talk. You may be amazed how many non-relatives respond as his victims. Making his identity and location known may prevent a world of hurt to other would-be victims. And bring the current victims forward. It doesn't matter that someone called you a liar. You know the truth. Does this "man" have granddaughters now? jan g. ----Original Message Follows---- From: AletaM@aol.com Reply-To: BLACKSHEEP-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com To: BLACKSHEEP-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BSChat] RE: [BS-L] WOW... Please remember that the first time I mentioned it I was called a liar. Did he totally stop? My younger sisters, who were closer to his daughters in age, say he did not, he went after his own daughters. Did he go after anyone else? I really have no idea. If he did, he did the same with them. There is no way to know how many he approached. This is why we decided, when we became adults, to let the Lord handle it. The Lord will know about all of them. 3. Yes Aleta, they flow backward. And this was in the third grade that I argued with the teacher. It wasn't because I was right and she was wrong or visa versa, it was that I dared to question that school authority and they just couldn't stand it. My third year in school was a tough one. Got thrown out for arguing with the teacher over hurricanes, got thrown out for arguing with another teacher over how my last name was pronounced, got thrown in jail for breaking another little kids leg, finally got put in juvenile for slugging one of the teachers. On top of it all I would throw up on the way to school out of fear of what was going to happen that day in school, and if I made it through the school day I would throw up on the way home out of fear of what was going to happen there. The authorities said I was 'disturbed'. Guess I was. Jack Childers in OKC

I don't know how any of them > do it for more than 15 years without a nervous breakdown. And I can > understand how burn out affects the teachers' performance. Jan G., sometimes they are part of the cause of their own burn out. I think this is because some have a one dimensional way of thinking and teaching. Examples: 1. The three oldest girls in my family had the same cooking teacher. She was an excellent teacher, really had it all together, until she had us in her class. Problem? She couldn't accept that we were full sisters, we look nothing alike, plus different personalities. She went so far as to tell our Mom that we must have had different fathers, because full sisters could never be so different. This really insulted my Mom, her and Dad will be married 60 years in Oct this year. 2. My next sister younger and I had the same fifth grade teacher. I loved her, my sister hated her. Apparently she liked me and didn't care much for my sister. This was strictly a personality problem, however it affected her teaching while my sister was in her class. 3. Two younger sisters had the same first grade teacher. These sisters are nothing alike in temperament or appearance. This teacher comments how different they are. My Mom told the teacher, "Yes, and I wish them to remain individuals." Mom wanted none of us to be carbon copies of the other, we aren't, however the older we get the more we resemble each other physically. 4. My middle daughter had a math teacher who would explain a theory and my daughter couldn't grasp it. She would ask for further explanation, the teacher would go through the same explanation, exactly the same way, louder. My daughter is not stupid or hard of hearing, she just needed an explanation from a different angle than the teacher was presenting it. She brought the problem home and we were able to help her understand the problem. This was not a single occurrence with that teacher. Since I'm the third of nine children and have three daughters and have 25 nieces and nephews, I could go on ad nausium, I won't. I think I must have refused to hear it because in my mind he was absolutely perfect---we had a mutual admiration society made up of Daddy & Me....LOL Doris....A Texan in Georgia..... Doris, the only time I've heard my mom cuss is when she's stubbed her toe. lol Not bad for a woman who's been married to a Texan for 59 years! My kids weren't allowed to use "foul language" in our home until they were too old for me to influence legally, I guess. <g> so that was when they were 18 and old enough to understand how their language would influence the way the people around them think of them. It's never been a problem--there's not much novelty in it anymore when you're in college or working. Especially if you go to the movies and listen to music on the radio. One of my sisters in law was so upset by my dad's language that none of her three kids were ever allowed to spent even a weekend with my parents without her. It was just more than she could handle to think that her kids might pick up grandpa's language habit. <G> She teaches elementary school and is a very sweet lady, but she's got rules. I really don't often use "blue" language in private, and I'd say "never" in public....(I try not to use "never" or "always" either)....sometimes I get strange smirks from people when I say "O Rats!!!" , but I also get "nicer" language used around me if I set the pace.... When I was very young I would experiment with words and always got the looks and raised eyebrows....then later was told I was behaving in "an unacceptable manner" <ugh!> I just got used to trying to keep my speech clean....then when I married and started raising children I was adamant about it---and I wouldn't even allow people to use "baby talk" around my kids....it was right or not at all...... Me, I've been known to fail.....but it doesn't happen often....I'll just say it isn't the norm...even in private. <G> Doris....A Texan in Georgia..... 3. The part I couldn't stand was singeing off the pinfeathers. Feathers smelt bad enough, but burning those pinfeathers was MUCH worse! For many years I wouldn't eat (much less cook) chicken! After I married, though, the wife & kids loved chicken, but I had to teach the wife how to do it! English is supposed to be one of the most complicated languages, so many words with multiple definitions. There are to many good words to have to resort to questionable or "bad" words. Then there are words for which the definition is constantly changing. "Gay" being one of them. This happens to be my cousin's name and it really irritates me that only the negative definition is the acceptable one. In fact it irritates me so much that at times I have told the person who questions me about it to learn to use a dictionary, and read it. 3.
