Also, we had another case where the molestor was "caught" in the public Pool. the police were called and the three children who complained (and their Parents) were discounted because it was the word of children against the word of " a respected long time resident", After the fact he continued to stay at the pool in his brief speedos, and "later" ended up getting sued for embezzling the Bingo funds. Doris, I can understand their hesitation if they themselves were not the victims. They know that making those waves is going to more than likely destroy the pervert's life. So, in a show of conscience, they hesitate to repeat a second hand story, especially from a child. But, when the victim is an adult now and knows the truth, and the pervert is still out there running around, I think it's a crime to keep quiet. When you do nothing to stop a child molester who has children available to them, it's just about the same as aiding and abetting them. The molesting doesn't stop. The perverts just stay in hiding. Yes, I know what you mean. I think Tammy Whine-ette was the height of that trait. There was a study done about 20 years ago by some scientific types. They concluded that CW leads to drinking and drunkenness, because of it's depressive aspects. I do know that the CW has gotten closer to pop music, ever since Kenny Rogers came along in the 70's, but even "(You picked a fine time to leave me,)Lucille" was a *great* drinking song. Jack, you might want to check again on that. "Megan's Law" (federal) was passed about 5 or so years ago to make that information available, especially on the internet, where it's easy to reach. Megan was a little girl abducted and killed by a convicted molester who, unknown to her parents, lived in their neighborhood. So, after Megan was killed, it became a major drive to get this type of threat to the community known to all, rather than being able to continue, unnoticed. Since this is an untreatable problem, it seems fair that the community should know that they have a constant threat as long as those individuals live there. You know it isn't just the males that molest little ones. Also it just isn't little girls that get molested. I know that this is going to sound really bad but here goes, It is too bad that they segregate the molesters and put them in a different level in the prison system. There are to many lifers inside that have children on the outside that they can't protect. I know that there are people who have been accused of molesting someone who in fact did not. In fact studies have shown that if you a young child something several times (I forget the number) they will incorporate what you tell them into their story. So the people who do the investigating of indecent liberties have to be very careful, not only of protecting the little one any more trauma but to make sure it is the truth. Sex offenders in my State (Georgia) are required to register with their local jurisdiction. GA then publishes their address and convictions online. http://www.ganet.org/gbi/sorsch.cgi You can search your neighborhood and find dangerous people that way. I found a convicted rapist living across the street from my (single) mother!!

Once in a great while one of the stations will show a Carry On movie. I thought they were hilarious! Joan Sims died last year. She made a final appearance in the movie "Last of the Blonde Bombshells" with Judi Densch. Wonderful movie, lots of great WW2 songs. (before my time). As far as music, I LOVE ZZTop. My husband and son called me on their way out fishing in Clearwater. They said, "Guess what! We are right behind the ZZtop car!" They said one of them was driving and a woman of questionable reputation was in the car! I love doowop music--American Graffiti is the best soundtrack ever! do any of you follow the Grand Prix? its a passion with me, but sometimes I really do dislike the sport! yesterday, the austrian GP was an excellent example of why, all weekend Ruebens Barrichello had been on top form, fastest in qualifying, warm up laps, practice, free sessions etc, was on pole position and led the race to the end, with "schuey" tailing him all the way, it was an eventful race, but became a farce when as Rubens came around the last corner, heading for the chequered flag some 100 yards away, "team orders" were given to Ruebens to slow down and move over for "schuey" to take the race! Teh Team insist that it was in the interest of winning the drivers championship, well "schuey" winning it for the 5 time. the corwd showed their feelings by Booing "schuey", and other drivers looked on in amazement. Despite that fact that we, the supporters, know that Ruebens' contract (newly signed for 2 years and 10 million $) states that he is number 2, and is there to support "schuey", and try to achieve the best position he can at the end of the race to get the most points for the constructors championship, such blatent "team orders" did nothing for the sport, nor winning "fair and square!" Schuey is some 20 odd points clear of his nearest rival, and "aquired" 4 points yesterday that he did not get by his own performance, Schuey said at the press conference later, " you never know what will happen in the next race and we would be kicking ourselves if we lost the championship by those 4 points" Personally, I hope that Schueys's car is totally unreliable for the rest of the season, and that Barichello misses the championship by 4 points, egg on face for Ferrai then! That is my biggest gripe about County Music, that it gets too sappy about love and all that. Or somebody is dying and the other one is crying into his/her pillow everynight. I don't mind Allan Jackson or Tim McGraw if they aren't too mushy. I'm not down on love, I have been married to the same guy for 29 years next month. But I hate mushy love stories in movies, too.
