    3. Nope, but I have the idea it is part of the connotation. It is a noun for something someone does that spescifically ahs to do with purporting to use psychic powers. Nothing you came up with so far is it. Dora --- [email protected] wrote: > It would likely be a law about FRAUD. > > > > Jeffery G. 1. [BSChat] ODORS: Skunk--Cow Manure--Armadillo
    2. Patsy
    3. Hi Gail, While reading your most enjoyable message about cow manure, as I was laughing, it brought back memories of my husband's grandmother. (Please note that I changed the subject line and hopefully, the following will not be boring--guaranteed that at the time it happened there was NOTHING boring about it--as with your 'fertilizer' experience!) She lived in California and was visiting us in Texas. One weekend we went camping with some friends. I don't remember if the friend killed the armadillo or if we just happened to find the body? Grandma Rinke had heard they make great purses and she took the body home with us against all my protests. Once we got home I asked my husband to 'lose' it--but this old lady who had been around for a long time, was smarter than we were and (without our knowledge) 'found' it! If anyone has ever been in Houston, TX in the summer, you will appreciate how hot and humid it is and how every one has air conditioners going.....this was before the central air was so popular, so like everyone else, we had a window unit. A few days later, (remember, we had thought we were successful in getting rid of the animal) there was the most horrific odor coming in our house. Investigation of the smell led us directly to the air conditioning unit -- where laying on top of the unit was this carcass -- Grandma Rinke had put it there IN THE SUN so that it would dry out and she could make a purse! Needless to say, Grandma Rinke did not get her armadillo purse--at least not from this poor little critter. Patsy in the Golden State Wine Country

    1. [BSChat] what is old legal term for fortune telling?
    2. Dora Smith
    3. Does anyone know what is an older or slightly archaic legal term for fortune telling? My astrology teacher used the term in our class discussion about the law in the early 1980's in Buffalo NY, and according to the Internet this law is still on the books in New York though no citation nor reference to the law by its name. It forbids using any psychic practice in such a way as to appear to foretell teh future, and it amy forbid other things as well. I am interested in laws that forbid appearing to have ESP. 2. Bettye, I meant to ask how you managed to stay with the skunk smell under the house. You and your family must be made of sturdy stuff. That would have been an ideal time to go visiting LOL. I feel for your son-in-law. When we lived in Tampa, FL. We had a flower bed right outside our dinning room window. Someone told me cow manure was good to build up flower beds. So I got several large bags and dumped them in the flower bed and set out my starter plants, it looked so pretty. That night we had a rain, the next day we had a lot of hot sun, then we had a lot of smell. No one told me you are supposed to mix the cow manure with dirt. The neighbors didn't say much, they just laughed a lot. I'm not going to repeat what my husband said but that weekend we reworked the flower bed. I've never used cow manure since LOL. Gail in La.

    2. Gail, you will miss Blue I'm sure, glad you did get rid of the skunk odor. I'll have to remember the tomato juice and all the hints that were given on how to remove the odor. The sheepers are wonderful, aren't they? What part of Fl are you moving to? I'ts been extremely hot here. I also have relatives in Louisana (Leesville) close to Shreveport, and my uncles family is from Jonesboro, La. I love the Loisana Iris, but they will grow in FLalso, as I have many in my garden, and nursery down in South FL has started to specialize in the Louisana Iris. The colors are fantastic. Have a safe trip to FL. Bettye

    2. Bettye, I can see you laughing about Blue & the skunk odor. She really was smelly LOL. This morning when we were sitting on the back porch having a cup of tea (I drink the tea, Blue drinks water) I was telling the neighbor about it and he said he was sorry he wasn't home to help but he would probably have laughed so hard he wouldn't have been much help. I didn't even try to wash my old comfortable, worn out t shirt, I just put in the trash. I'm going to miss Blue, she is a great dog. She rides on the back of my nephew's Harley and she loves to ride on the back of his horse also. He has a sheepskin pad fixed for her so her toenails won't dig in the horse's rump. She rode in 2 Mardi Gras parades this year, she sliped off the horse once but she just jumped right back on. I'm going to miss my nephew also, as well as his dog LOL. Gail in La.

We kind of think that it would have to be Bobby's horse, Washoe, because Millie has walked ON the horse while she was laying down before. My 'Little Feather' would just as soon dance on Millie, I fear. They've got a 'sibling rivalry' thing going on, both vying for 'mom's' attention. The only problem with Millie riding on the back of Washoe is that the horse is sooooo tall! It would really be a challenge to get the dog up there... *somehow*! LOL Best, SueB

    2. I have a friend on msn.com to whom I'm attempting to send pictures taken at a Class Reunion. First I sent 5, way to big. Then I send two, still to big. Both are over 1 mg. These are high density/pixel photos. the smallest file is just under 1 mg. My questions: 1. How large of an attachment will msn.com allow? 2. Can I put the pictures in a e-mail going to an msn.com address? I've been playing with this all day. 2. You are so right nothing smells worse than a skunk, in South Georgia where I grew up, the people in that area called them polecats. I remember a dog once chased one under the house, and we had that problem. We could smell that polecat for days. You made my day, I am sitting here laughing, even though it's not funny to you. It just brought back memories of my childhood, and I neeeded a laugh. When my daughter got married, her husband had the wild idea of covering the lawn with cow and horse muck,, as he was going to grow some fantastic grass. She called me crying, as the stink was so bad that all of her neighbors were mad with them, and couldn't open the windows for over two weeks or more. We still laugh about that one. Bettye Bettye

    3. Hi Gail! So glad to hear that the tomato juice did the trick for you. Sounds like you handled the chore well and the wetting the hair first was a good idea. Forgot to mention on my original post that I had also done that and let the t.j. soak in for awhile. Ya done good, gal! ;-) Best, SueB

    2. Thanks Sheepers, you came thru for me again. I got 8 cans of the store brand tomato juice and it worked. I wet her hair down first thinking that it would absorb the juice better if it was wet. Then I used an old sponge to work the juice thru her hair (or should I say fur) anyway I got the job done. She stood quite still for me, but I had her on a leash so she couldn't run off, but you should have seen the look she gave me when I started putting that tomato juice on her. Like she was saying what are you doing to me LOL. I didn't know if I should let the juice soak in her hair or not but I figured it wouldn't hurt for a little while. Then I rinsed her off and shampooed her and rinsed her again and dried her good. I let her run around the yard a bit and the first thing she does is go roll in the dirt after I had her so clean. Go figure. What an interesting Sunday afternoon but not what I had planned. I'm glad this didn't happen to my cat or I might not have survived as she hates a bath. Gail in La.

    3. Gail and Everyone, For clothing and other porous surfaces, PetSmart has Simple Solution which is an enzyme odar and stain buster which works very well. For old stains and odors it may take more than one washing. I not only use it for dog and cats indiscretions, It works on mouse odors and stains and it works wonders on teenage boys stinky underarms, etc. But on the dog itself, you used the best, the tomato juice! Follow instructions carefully. Pamela [email protected] wrote: > > Thanks Sheepers, you came thru for me again. I got 8 cans of the store brand > tomato juice and it worked.
