    3. Well I'll just have to try that Concession Obsession and Chubby Hubby. I've never tried those flavors! That sorbet sounds good, except I don't like raspberry at all. Maybe the strawberry would cancel it out. My son bought some Turner's Moose Tracks the other night and it was good too, but really rich. Vanilla with reese's peanut butter cups in it. Jin Susan T Grove wrote:mmm, gimme that Ben & Jerry's! Love the Concession Obsession and Chubby Hubby (maybe it should be renamed Chubby Wife). Wish they'd start making Doonesbury Sorbet again--raspberry & strawberry sorbet swirled together...haven't seen it for a few years. Every summer I think about a letter-writing campaign to get them to bring it back. :-) Of course, for a local flavor, Oberweis Dairy has TREMENDOUS strawberry ice cream... Okay, that's enough. 3. Hi Marge, You have a great weekend too! That kind of sounds like Ar. especially the part about everything being busted and everyone out of work and no jobs. LOL I love Ar. I grew up here and it's home and it's a beautiful state, but it sure is a poverty striken state also. It's nickname used to be The Land of Opportunity. My dad's best friend had grown up here and moved to Hemet California. He was an evangelist and would come stay with us often and run revivals in the area. (My dad is also a minister, was a pastor) He said that people in Calif. would ask him what that meant, the land of opportunity and he would tell them, "it means opportunity only knocks once and when it does, you'd better take the opportunity to leave"! I'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you return. 3. Betty, In my opinion, Yarnell's is the best ice cream I've ever tasted! It beats Ben and Jerry's, Baskin-Robins or any I've tried, but I don't think you can get it anywhere but Arkansas. It's made in Searcy, Ar. I just starved for it when I lived in Georgia, Kansas City, and St. Louis. They have a divine Banana Pudding flavor, also the best Rocky Road and Butter Pecan that I've ever tasted! Breyer's is also good, though. That's what I always bought when I couldn't get Yarnell's. Oh yeah, I forgot about Yarnell's homemade Strawberry, Cherry Vanilla, and Black Cherry. Are you hungry yet??? 3. Jeff, I totally agree with you. Now, don't fall in the floor! LOL When I was in school, back in the Stone Age, we had prayer in school and Bible reading and the pledge of allegiance every morning over the intercom. I have no problem with it, but personally, I don't think it made much of a difference in anyone's lives. The prayer was the Lord's Prayer. The religion (pentecostal brainwashing) that I was brought up in, didn't recognize that as a "real prayer", because it was one you made up yourself. We had Chinese kids, who were Buddhists, Jewish kids, and a few Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm sure the religious part was offensive to the Buddhists and Jews sometimes. The Jehovah's Witnesses left the room, because of the pledge to the flag. I never heard anyone complain, personally, though. Our teachers also spoke quite often about when integration was coming and some of them made statements that they would quit teaching before the taught N (that famous N word) in front of the entir! e class publicly. Uh-oh, it's time for me to hush. Jinnye [email protected] wrote:Actually "separation of Church and state" was a termed coined by teh Supreme Court in 1906, previous to that it wasn't an issue. I ate some smoked oysters with crackers last night. I was here all alone, for once, and didn't want to cook. My son, Jay, who lives with me, is gone on a trip to Little Rock with his best friend, Darrin, to visit Darrin's dad and brother. He's been gone for 3 days. He hardly ever goes anywhere overnight. 3. I found Sue's trivia interesting...NOT to open a debate, but just another little bit of trivia in light of yesterday's events: Separation of church and state DID NOT MEAN that our forefathers were trying to ban prayer from public places (schools, etc.). They were trying to avoid a "national religion," such as making every American Catholic, or Muslim, or whatever... AGAIN, not as a debate. Just another bit of trivia. Sue G. IBSSG < The U.S. Congress passed a law in 1832 requiring all American citizens to spend one <day each year fasting and praying. For the most part, people ignored the law, and no <effort was made to enforce the legislation.

    2. Thanks Jinnye, The sqeaking wheel gets the grease. My wildflower project didn't do so well, and I just contacted Wildseed Farms in Texas and they are reshipping 14 lbs of the Southeastern Wildflower mix to be planted by the DOT and our Garden Circle again along the Atlantic Blvd section, just before the intercoastal waterway. The other areas of the city we had beautiful wildflowers, and the project here, was my idea. Anyway the seed is to be planted next month in October, and hopefully we will have beautiful wildflowers in bloom along Atlantic Blvd. and the intercoastal waterway. See our Fl Fed of Garden Club web site at www.ffgc.org scroll on down to roadside beautifaction and you'll see our project and the wildflower seeds planted by Queens Harbour. Glad you enjoy the wildflowers and Garden Clubs also. The wildflowers this month in Georgia and on the edge of South Carolina were beautiful and still in bloom. Wildflowers are a special project of mine. Good to hear from you. Still researching my Hawkinsvlle ancester Mattie (Mathilda Lou) Simmons Tucker, a grandmother that died young in Hawkinsville, Ga no new leads yet. Found out an uncle from there probably has a surname of McAlister. I am beggining to think Mattie was nickname for Mathilda. Bettye
