That would be helpful. Do you mean Anderson County, Texas? Slave owning Blackshears lived in that area at one time down on the Trinity River bottoms. Is this a white or a black family? Of former slaves who took the Blackshear name, some used a "Blackshire" spelling. If you mean Anderson County, I suggest you contact the genealogy section of Palestine Public Library which has an excellent genealogy section. I think they have a web page, e-mail, phone number etc. I live in adjoining Cherokee County. Our Gen Soc meets in Jacksonville. To my knowledge, at this time Anderson County is being covered by the East Texas Gen Soc. out of Tyler, Texas. I don't know if Anderson County has an active group at this time. I am on the Blackshear list because one set of my husband's 2 great grandparents were Lovice Blackshear and Henry Dominy who married in Laurens County, Georgia, in 1821. Her father was Alexander Blackshear who died in Henry County, Alabama, where they eventually migrated to and then to East Texas.
