My name is Beverly Rae Montgomery (Blackshear). I live in Houston, Texas. My father Truman Blackshear of African American Ancestry, was born in Anderson, County Texas 08-22-1933. His mom was Emma, and his father's name was Robert Scott, or so I heard. It is difficult to get accurate information concerning Blacks from before 1900. My Mom was born in Brenham, Texas 08-12-1935.Her mother's name was Nettie Maye Walker or Mosley. I have really just started looking into my roots at the urging of my husband. He did research on his family and found his ancestors from Old Romeny England.
