Dear List, I found this query on Genforum. Looking for information on Alice Evans who married a BLACKLEDGE prior to 1815, prob. in Butler Co. or surrounding counties in PA. She is listed in the will of her father, John EVANS, which is dated 1815,(b. 1734 in Lancaster Co. PA, d. 4 Feb 1817 in Mercer Twp., Butler Co., PA) as being married to a BLACKLEDGE. An Alice B. EVANS is listed in the IGI as marrying Isaac BLACKLEDGE in 1792 in PA. He was born 3 Nov 1770 in Bucks Co., PA to Thomas and Margaret WRIGHT BLACKLEDGE. An Allee EVANS is listed in the pedigree file of Rich and Cass Mather as being born in Greene Co., PA to John and Margaret EVANS on 4 Jul 1777 and she died 28 Sep 1866. The Mathers list her as the mother of Noah TEAL and Isaac BLACKLEDGE as his father. Their Isaac is listed as dying 22 Jun 1826 in Greene Co., PA. T. Thawley, his source the Teal family Bible, lists their marriage as 27 Dec 1798. Does anyone know this family? Is Alice B EVANS and Allee the same person? Is her father the John EVANS of Mercer Twp.
