I am looking for further information regarding Wiliam Blackledge who cameto America ca 1682, purchased land in Southhampton Twp., Bucks Co., PA and married Mary Duffield, daughter of Benjamin Duffield. He died in 1718. Known children were: (1) Benjamin who married in Philadelphia in 1728 to Sarah Philpot and moved to Johnson Co., NC in 1758, (2) Thomas born 1707, married in New Jersey 1730 to Elizabeth Randell/Randall, died 1790, Bucks Co., PA, (3) Robert, born in Bucks Co., PA, married in Philadelphia in 1732 to Elizabeth Howard, and (4) John, born in Bucks Co., PA, married in Philadelphia in 1736 to Briget Grimes. This family was Quaker. Am especially searching for origins of William Blackledge. I would assume that he was of English extraction, but that is yet to be proven.
