    3. In going through my parents scrapbooks, I have found some photos of a Melvin Blackledge & his wife. I believe these photos may have been taken in the late 20's or early 30's. My parents attended what was then Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, OK, and these photos may have been from that location. The parents of Mahala were John Blacklidge (c. 1780-1828) and Minah Newby. They were married 21 Aug 1801 in Pulaski Co, KY. Mahala was born in Kentucky in 1823. I have John R. Keith born in 1840 and died in 1883; Elizabeth J. Keith born in 1841 and died in 1866. I am pleased to learn of Lucinda F. and hope you will fill me in on your branch.     3. Lara, your dad's parents were Lewis Blackledge (b. 11 Jul 1877 in MS, died 13 Mar 1960) and Nancy Isabelle Holifield (b. 22 Nov 1881 in MS, died 31 Mar 1969). They had six children and are buried in Oakland Grove Baptist Church cemetery, Jones Co, MS. You can obtain more information on your line from Linda Talbot (see her email address above) who also may be able to identify your mother's parents. Thanks to you, I now know when Louisa Ann Blackledge died and where she is buried. She was born 1 Feb 1807 in New Bern, NC and married George Whitfield on 8 Jan 1824 in NC. So, she would have been 39 and just days away from her 40th birthday when she died. I am decended from John F. Blackledge who ended up in White County, IL. I have been trying to link him to the family you have in that Bible. I believe that Richard's family can be seen in Pulaski County, KY in the early 1800s. I think that the Woodruff you have is Woodruff Blacklidge who also ended up in White County.
