My great gpa did make a note that James was "traditionally" regarded as a brother to George & Elizabeth. So he knew something was afoul even in the 50's. And we have so many more resources now, 45 years later, than he had. Everything you say and everything he mapped seems to check out. The only thing he appears to error in is my William's father. He seems to think that James (& Janet Rankin)'s son Thomas was my William's father. I can't prove it. I found what my great found. It was the wrong William. How I wish I had more of his research. I know there was more. I have his wife's research notes on her KY lines, yet his have disappeared. I can snail mail you this "map" if you are interested. Still stuck on my William, Cheri
