Robin, I am thrilled to be on this list. I'm hoping to find some of the many Blackburns descended from me. I am one of the many descendents of the Lancashire England Blackburns. My 3rd great grandfather was Samuel Blackburn (b. 1827, Eccles Lancashire England), married to Sarah Susannah Lamb. I am compiling a book about Alfred Lamb Blackburn, my 2nd great grandfather, Samuel's son. It is for this reason I have become interested in finding my relatives so I can give them copies of the book. AL Blackburn and many of his siblings and mother moved to Idaho and Utah in the 1850's or 1860's as Mormon Pioneers. Some of his children moved to California. Three of his daughters. All married wealthy men, or men who became wealthy...... One lived in Santa Monica, another Beverley Hills and the other Los Angeles?! Anyway, his eldest daughter is my ancestor. One of the few that was never rich. She was happy though, and more successful in the long run family-wise than the rich ones. I'd be very interested in finding some of the descendents of the 'rich Blackburns' in California. I know one was named Mary, she married a man named Frank Grabmair. The others I don't remember their names. Anyway, I kind of got caught up in talking about Alfred Lamb. I am 'young blood' as you called it. I have been doing genealogy since mid 1998 and I will surely do it all my life. I'm always going to be involved in someone else's genealogy if not my own. Nice being on the list so far, even if it seems no one on it is any relation to me! :o) Brad
