Hi Amy, Do you have access to the Blackburn book by Challacombe? It has a bit about your Samuel, a will is mentioned. The book has a few Rankins, but not Jane or her parents. Just looking at it quickly, it seems to put forth that Benjamine, John, William and Samuel are brothers, and Archibald is an uncle . Does this fit your known facts? It does say Samuel married Eleanor Provine in Chester Co, PA abt 1748, and her sister Ann Provine m Francis McCormick. They were two of the four dau's of Thomas Provine. It also says that Samuel & Eleanor had no children.
