Hi Joe Carroll, Thanks for clarifying! Now, the Blackburn book shows Josiah and James as twins. Do you have good info on their dob's and can say for sure they are not? Also, (I am just going by the book and have not researched this line) a Samuel or Lemuel is shown, but no Daniel. I wonder if the records were just so bad that no one could say for sure. Oh, I see now you have Alfred Lemuel. Probably some census records show him as Alfred, and others as Lemuel! Do you have good info on Daniel? I am interested in this line for several reasons although it is not my direct line I feel very sure they are related due to time, place, and names. As I mentioned, I have a Porter line, and think there is a connection there also. The Cherokee connection is important to me too, as we were told all our lives we were part Cherokee, but I have been unable to find any proof. Lewis married a Cherokee woman, or at least part Cherokee. I guess you knew that. The Challacombe book on Blackburns states that John Porter Blackburn moved to Texas with three brothers and the family of Edward Rose, the nephew of Gideon Blackburn (my known relative) and that they called each other "cousin". Gideon, if you did not know, established schools for the Cherokee and taught them to spin and to farm among other things, as reading, writing, and about the Bible, of course. 'Ain't' this fun?
