Richard Columbus Blackburn was the son of William Calloway Blackburn b. 1837 and Susannah Brewer b. 1846 of Wilkes Co. NC. William Calloway was the son of Eli Austin Blackburn b. 1806 and Mary "Polly" Caudill b. 1808 of Wilkes Co. Richard Columbus (my great grandfather) was born in 1888 in Wilkes Co. NC. I am not sure exactly when he came to Nashville yet. I am also looking for a marriage record for him and Jessie Pearl but I have not been able to locate it yet. He died in 1936 after being hit by a car at the corner of 8th Ave. South in Nashville. His death was actually caused from infection that set in the injury to his leg. His son Richard Jr., which was my grandfather, was a truck driver. He drove for Ryder for years. He died in 1974 from what they think was food poisoning.???. Are these the Blackburns you are related to? Let me know if it is. I have lots more info.
