There were a Father -Son Elias Blackburn in VA at that time. Sr. Elias b. abt 1666 (wife Unknown), d. in Essex County VA. Caroline Co. was split off from Essex Co. abt 1720. Jr. Elias Blackburn b. 1689 and d. 1770 in Caroline Co. VA. was married to Margaret Boulware abt 1683 in St. Annes Parrish. She died aft 1751. I suspect this would be the Elias mentioned in the 1747 court case of Patrick Welsh as Sr. would be abt 81, but Jr. would be 58. Interestingly, Jr.'s brother(or Uncle?) Ambrose was constable in Caroline Cty in 1749-50. My source for all this is a Blackburn researcher, Paul Mears, who has helped me considerably.
