    1. Re: [BLKBURN] Roll Call
    2. Rodger, I have a couple of corrections. Basically it appears that various unrelated Blackburns have been combined to make a family. 1. John I can't speak to this as there are several theories about John being the sire of different lines. 2. Benjamine m. Rosannah Steele . This probably should be Benjamin and Mary--? who were the parents of Archibald Blackburn b 1851 who m. Rosannah Steele. It is believed this Benjamin immigrated from Ireland between 1720-40. Some believe he was a son of John of Isle of Wight VA. so far no proof. 3. Lt. Wm. Blackburn/Elizabeth Black had only daughters as named in his will. He was killed at the Battle of King's Mountain. The father of Lt. Wm Blackburn was also William Blackburn (stated in a survey document which named Wm., George, and Arthur as sons of Wm. I think this Wm. was probably the son of Archibald and Margaret (Wilson?) who were born in Ireland. Lt. Wm. was definitely not a son of Benjamin 4.Thomas Blackburn(1742) who m. Christian Scott was a son of Col. Richard Blackburn of Rippon Lodge in VA Col. Thomas Blackburn had sons Richard Scott Blackburn (1760-1804 m Judith Ball; Thomas Blackburn b 1765 - no further info. The Blackburn women who married into the Washington family are from this line. 5. Hutson(Hudson) Blackburn is a son of a different Thomas Blackburn than the one above. I don't have info. on who his father was- I believe it is still in question. Some of the Pike/Floyd co. researchers will have to verify the rest. Good hunting M. Blackburn
