What was Nancy's madien name and who were her parents, date and place of birth? The census inforamtion I have on them comes from their children's records. According to Orange County Indiana census of 1840 & 1850 she was born in Va abt 1797. I source said they were married in Pike County KY, have not found any records on them. Their children: Susan-born 1816 in VA, spouse Solomon Neideffer, married in Orange County IN both died in IL. Preston-born 1817 in Kentucky (may have been named after John Preston of Floyd County) spouse Matilda Neideffer (sister to Solomon) married in Orange County IN, place of death unknow for both. These are my gggrandparents and would appreciate any information anyone has on them or their children. I beleive Matilda may have died about 1872/73 as Preston married a second time to a Mrs Mary Jane Ellis in Montague County TX in 1873. children: William, LaVaisa Jane, Sarah E, James, John, Mary Ellen (Polly), Samuel P., George W., Laura, Sally, possibly Albert. I can share info. on LaVaisa, Mary Ellen, Sameul P, George, Laura, and Sally. James William -born 1822, Kentucky spouce Mary C. Denton, married in Orange Co. IN believe both in Texas. Albert Burten-born 1825 in Kentucky spouse Rhonda Smith, married in Orange Co IN Alford/Alfred-born 1829 in Kentucky spouse Mary Krutsinge/Cutsinger, married in Orange Co IN. Nancy- born 1832 in Kentucky spouse Moses Leatherman, married in Orange Co In,. These are my gggrandparents also. Moses died in Oak Grove, AR, 1880. believe Nancy died abt 1903 in Montague Co TX. Their Children: William, P. Jane, Mary B.(my ggrandmother), Alice A., David and Miles. Would like to hear from descendants of William, Alice A., David and Miles. Their last two children were born in Orange County Indiana, Martha-1837 and Amanda-1839 so they much have migrated to Indiana sometime after 1832 and before 1837. As I state above Nancy and the three younger children were listed on the 1840 census living in the same household.(No William) He may have died after 1839 or may have just been gone at census time, but didn't show up on the 1850 census with Nancy either.Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck on William and Nancy for quite awhile.
