Hi! I've known since I was 5 that I had a great grandmother named Isabella Blackburn, born in 1814, died in 1914. After marriage she became Isabella Mordue. I know that she lived for some time at Marley Hill and at Clough Dene. She ran a public house which I have in recent years been told was named "Castles in the Air" at Burnhope and later a place named "The Garden House Inn" at Durham. I have been unable to find her birth anywhere and cannot find her in any census records. There is one vague possibility in 1881 but the age would be 4 years out and the job description didn't seem to fit. I think her father was Joseph and her grandfather Robert but these are not positives! I have bought her marriage and death certificates but to some extent they add to the confusion. I do know that her father, like herself, lived to be 99 and I think he lived at the Hobson. Is there anybody out there who can make Isabella a little less elusive to me? I do hope so. If you know she is a relative of yours I have several snippets of information that you might like to have. Hopefully, ARP
