Hi Jean, I don't know of any of the BLACKBURNS immigrating but then a few years ago I had a second cousin contact me and her grandfather was the brother of my grandfather. I had only heard very vaguely that there was such a relative who had "immigrated to America." His name was WILLIAM ROSTRON and I think it must have been very early this century that he immigrated - from the same area of Co. Durham as JOSEPH BLACKBURN lived. WILLIAM ROSTRON settled in Illinois. Another relative, DANIEL HADLEY came out from that same area in 1913 and settled in New Philadelphia, Ohio. So I had another second cousin come to visit me! Do you know when your Joseph immigrated and where he came from? It would be nice to find some connection - even if only the place where your Joseph came from. There were a number of Joseph Blackburns in the area. Ann in Ontario, Canada. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.
