    1. [BLKBURN] BLACKBURNS in the Caribbean
    2. E. B. Herron
    3. I do not see the names Henry and William Alexander in my BLACKBURN family lineage, however, in a letter my Grandfather wrote to me he states that another branch of his Liverpool, England lineage went to the Caribbean. Have you tried the Caribbean list, CARIBBEAN-L@rootsweb.com? I have found it very helpful. My ggrandmother, Edith BLACKBURN, married Henry Archibald SMITH, 1867, in Antigua, where her father, William Joseph BLACKBURN, was a superintendent for Fawcett Preston, an English company that manufactured equipment to process sugar cane. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BLACKBURN & BELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SNE.2ACIB/1151 Message Board Post: These are my wife's relatives. The grandfather, Henry Blackburn, would have been born around 1860. He and his brother Douglas each had about 11 children (that I have found) and I have gotten the birth records and baptismal records for each of the 22 children from the LDS microfilms. The grandmother (Henry's wife) was Lillian Bell. I see her name on the birth records and I see vital records for her brother George Bell also from St. Patrcicks. I have no inofrmation about the parents of Henry and Douglas Blackburn or Lillian and George Bell. I do not know if they were born in Grenada. I really start to see information about them in the 1880s. I have also consulted the microfilms for wills and deeds. Douglas and his family stayed in Grenada where he died in 1931 at the age of 71 (which gives me an indication of the period of birth for both brothers). Henry, Lillian, and George move on to Tobago and finally to Trinidad -- leaving Grenada about 1917. Since they did move that I kno! w of during their lifetimes, I am wondering whether they were all born somewhere other than Grenada. Anyone familiar with these families??

    1. [BLKBURN] an obit for Clark Waring Blackburn
    2. Patricia Arrants
    3. This was in the Atlanta paper, so this man must be a well known person. Colorado Blackburn, reformer Clark Waring Blackburn, 94, of Aurora, Colo., who led efforts in the 1960s to get social welfare agencies to provide education and job training in addition to traditional family counseling, died Jan. 18. >From 1952 to 1974, he was general director of what is now the Alliance for Children and Families. He prompted professional counseling as the key to families' well-being and was co-author of the 1968 book "How to Stay Married." He weighed in on the top issues of America after World War II as families moved to the suburbs, televisions became household centerpieces and schools were racially integrated. He led studies on the rise of teenage marriages in the 1950s. article from New York Times printed in the Atlanta Journal Constitution Jan. 27, 2003
