Surnames: Blackburn, Horton, Groves, King Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SNE.2ACIB/1204 Message Board Post: I need help in locating information on my wife's family. Her father was Billy Joe Blackburn born 8 June 1938 and died 19 Sept. 1978. He was married to Janie Elizabeth Cannon. Both are buried at the Vernon Cemetary in Hardeman County, Tn. Her grandfather was John Wesley Blackburn. He was born 23 March 1895 and died 15 June 1994 and is buried at the Bolivar Memorial Cemetery in Hardeman County, Tn. He married a Althia Jane King d/o Jesse W. King and Ellen Groves. She is buried at the New Union Cemetery in Hardeman County, Tn. Her great grandfather was also named John Wesley Blackburn and was born we believe around 1866 but not sure if he was born in Tn. or Ky. He was married to a Bessie Horton. We do not know the place of burial. I can find nothing else on her line. At the Vernon Cemetary in Hardeman County, Tn. I found the markers of a J.W. Blackburn (1825-1885) and beside his marker one of Sarah B. Blackburn (1825-1894). I have no idea how these two are connected to my wife but the Vernon Cemetary is small and mostly family connected. Also at the New Union Cemetary I found a Mary E. Blackburn (b. 9-23-1878 d. 4-2-1961). If anyone out there recognizes any of these or have any information on them I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks

Blackburn never to be found again. I assume he died in the war. My ggrandmother was Adeline Blackburn (she married Frank Knowles). Throughout the years the spelling of Blackburn was often spelled "blackman" or "Blackmon" for some reason. This is all I know of W. Blackburn and would love to know something more about him. pkpugh@hotmail.com

My Blackburns begin with Rebecca Blackburn born in 1861 . Rebecca was the mother of Charles, Jesse, Betty and Herbert. Rebecca had a sister named Harriet or Hattie. Hattie may have married a Thompson. I am assuming that Rebecca was a Blackburn that married a Blackburn. They were located in the Bourbon co., Ky area and then Spencer and Nelson counties. I am trying to find out who Rebecca was married too. My cousin mentioned Bird Blackburn being in this line, I have read all post relating to him but have not found a link. Thanks in advance, Jamie
