Abizina had one child with Henry, Julia Alberta. Julia married my Grandfather, Daniel Richard Plumlee in 1923. I have been told that Abizina died when Julia was around three years old. I have found some pictures with notations like "The Blackburns, Grandpa and Grandpa Blackburn, and an Uncle Claude Blackburn" but that's it... no first names, dates, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

His son Raymond was born in Harrison Co., in 1901. This was my grandfather, and now what remains of the family are in Spencer Co. Ky. Thhanks, Jamie

There was a Willoughby (OH) connection of some sort while in Brown Co. IN in 1860 but I'm not sure how it fits in. The other surnames you mention do not appear in my Blackburn line except one of Benjamin & Mary's grandsons was named Benjamin Taylor Blackburn.

    2. Charles A.("Al") Blackburn
    3. Hello Listmates, This message is a response to information Doris posted on 30JUL2003 regarding John Blackburn, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Blackburn. My great-grandfather was another John Blackburn who came from Gisburn (then in Yorkshire's West Riding, now in Lancashire) in 1830 with his wife (Frances Dean) and their two first-born children (Thomas and William) to settle in Delaware County, PA. My great-grandfather was the son of yet another John Blackburn and Rose ____. The IGI documents several marriages between a John Blackburn and a Rose. In the marriage which I consider most likely to be that of my great-great-grandparents (I have no proof), the bride is listed as Rose Wilkinson of Giggleswick. (Note that the surname Wilkinson also occurs in Doris's family.) My great-grandfather (John) was born in 1804. The birth years for his siblings (Mary, Margaret, Sarah, and James) range from 1799 to 1807. All of them could certainly be classed as contemporaries of Doris's John, who was born in 1802. While I have not yet established a genealogical connection between Doris's family and mine, there does seem to be at least a geographical connection. The English towns mentioned by Doris (Colne, Flockton, and Liversedge) and the two I've mentioned (Gisburn and Giggleswick) can all be found within a circle having a radius of about 20 miles. I would welcome any further comments that might help explain some of the relationships between Blackburns living near the Lancashire/Yorkshire border in the early nineteenth century. Charles A. ("Al") Blackburn Catonsville MD USA

George's second wife, Rhoda Delia Howell is my connection with one of his sons, Loren, who was my grandmothers father.

    3. John, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Blackburn, was christened twice on the same day. 7 May 1802 at the Lower Chapel Independent at Liversedge, Yorkshire, England, then at his home church at Flockton. He married (1) Mary Wilkinson 1 Nov 1827 at Colne, Lancashire, England, and (2) Anne Jane Gill 24 Jan 1830, and (3) Harriot Smith. This marriage might have been in Canada as their first child, Thomas Smith Blackburn, was born around Port Burwell, Elgin Co., Canada on 16 Mar 1832. They had three other children: Charles Oswald (born 26 Aug 1833), Martin (born 14 Nov 1837), and Mary Elizabeth (born 2 Feb 1842). Is anyone else researching this family? Doris Blackburn Morley

I know that Jesse Russel was a hired hand and most likely worked in the smoke shop the Alexander's owned. He stayed in Pana. Eva Blackburn and these two Alexander's mysteriously disappear. There is no death date filled in for John Alexander in the Alexander family bible. John Alexander married Elizabeth Ann Bond in McConnelsville, Ohio in 1848. The Alexander family moved to Pana in the spring of 1852. The other siblings of John Alexander are buried in Pana. I would like to know who this Eva Blackburn is and see if there is a connection to my Alexander's. Any help would be truly appreciated. Sincerely, Stephanie
