Could SKS look up the marriage notice of Charles Oswald (listed as C.O.) Blackburn and Mary Jane Eden posted in the Chicago Tribune on September 19th, 1862? TIA, Doris Blackburn Morley
Susan, I have been going back through my files and looking at the loose ends that I have and came to your letters from 1998!!!! 5 years old! Now I am hoping and praying that you have made some headway on your genealogy and thet you still have the same email address!!! Did you ever "send for Belle's Confederate Home application and Pleasant W. Blackburns Pension Application (he applied in 1904)." as you stated below? I really am thinking about sending for it if you haven't. Please let me know if you are still out there and are researching. Thanks, Gail Lies Jonesboro, AR nglies@nex.net STate40 wrote: >Gail, > > Pleasant W. Blackburn and Mary A. I'm trying to compile a family tree.
Anne B. Blackburn was born in 1858 and died ca 1863 of smallpox in Chicago. She was probably buried in the old cemetery by the lake as the family lived at 102 N. Huron (close to the lake.) I understand that the bodies were moved to Graceland Cemetery because of health hazards. This child is the only one of her generation that I have not been able to find. Can anyone check Graceland Cemetery for me? TIA, Doris Blackburn Morley

I have three men named Thomas M Blackburn in my database. Because the birth & death dates are so close, I'm thinking I've goofed. There could be 3 of them, but seems unlikely with similiar dates. Anyone shed some light? 1) 11 June 1897 - birth 13 Aug 1903 - death s/o Hampton & Eliz. Snyder Blackburn 2) 11 June 1897 - birth 18 Aug 1904 - death s/o William & Martha Blackburn Blackburn (cousins married) 3) 11 June 1897 - birth 13 Aug 1904 - death s/o William & Martha Bledsoe Blackburn Sheila

If you have Blackburns who died in Ohio between 1913 and 1932, you might find some interesting, helpful information online at www.ohiohistory.org/dindex It is incredible that they have put this online for us. I printed all of the Blackburns and there is quite a list. There may be a clue for you in one of these entries. In the North Carolina Historical Abstract of Wills: page 214: Fort, Richard Craven. Dec. Court, 1746. Benj. Blackburn is one of the test. (ator?) On page 540: Douglas, Alexander, Edenton, (without date). Wife Elizabeth, son John, property given me.... in Ireland, the children of Elizabeth, my sister, and Wm. McCray of County Tyroine, Ireland John Blackburn Exr. Hope this helps someone. Pat
