What was there was a undergrond tunnel. It emptied at the end , into the banks of the Delaware River. As I was going thru it, I saw some of my childrens toys, a big wheel, we though was missing, and other stuff as well. I felt like I would never get to the end of were it was taking me. But I had to keep going, my boys were in there somewere. I also felt like I could not breath well. At any rate, I got to the end and found them playing in water and dirt,alongside the river. I was totally blown away, at what I had found. I grabbed my boys and we headed back. Before we got completely out of the tunnel, I heard rushing water. It was coming at us. Apparently, it was high tide coming in. I ran as fast as I could and had one kid in each hand.We made it out of there. I was crying hystericlly, after we climbed out of the gulley. As soon as I walked across the road I saw my husband, and brothers. And I dropped to the ground, and screemed take them in the house. As soon as my husband got outta me what happen, he and my brothers made me go back. When we got there, the gulley was full of water. We went back that next day, and he could not believe what I was showing him. He made some calls to the county and newspapers about the tunnel. They did a real big article on it. Many parents who had the same thing happen with there kids, were screaming for answers. They found out that the tunnel started in Delaware, and emptied into Pennslyvania. So the slaves must have traveled alongside the river banks, until they came to the mouth of the tunnel. Once inside they traveled about 3/4 of a mile to come out at the Tea House, in PA. Well after that, the county went and put up metel grates at both ends. Nothing more was ever said about it. A true story and verifiable Bright Star
