Leonard Peltier has lost all legal avenues of recourse in his fight for freedom. The only avenue left to him is that of an Executive Clemency Order by President Clinton. We all have been urging this action for years now, with numerous other Presidents, yet our voices have fallen on deaf ears it seems. President Clinton did state that this was a matter he would investigate and work on when he was campaigning in his first run for office. To date no action has been taken, and it is not too far in the future when he will leave office. Therefore, pressure must be exerted and it must be continuous, to make this ONLY action available to Leonard, before President Clinton leaves office. Today at 2 P.M., there is an organizational meeting being held at 39 West 14th St., New York City, NY The purpose it to organize and set in motion plans for a march in Leonards behalf on December 10th to the United Nations. There are petitions for clemency that will be carried to the UN at that time. Some signators of these are Mother Theresa, Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, Ghandi and over 50 million American Citizens. If any of you can attend this organiational meeting, please make every effort to do so. This situation is in a critical state, and needs every possible means and person to support it. The time for gaining and guaranteeing that Leonard receive Executive Clemency from President Clinton is growing mercilessly short. Your support of this effort is greatly appreciated.
