Harris County was known as Harrisburg County until 1840. This database is a transcription of city directories originally published in 1882, 1884, 1886, 1887, 1889, 1890, 1892, and 1894. In addition to providing the residents' names, it provides their addresses and occupational information. It includes more than 101,000 names, mostly heads of households.
