Little Hawk and other list members, I have been using a phrase used from my childhood by my kinfolks when I asked about my bloodline. I am afraid that some of the younger generation has picked up on it. Now I understand that this term is offencive to some folks and it certainly was never ment to be when I said it. The term Heinz pup was only in reference to 57 different kinds which was refering to the fact that we had many different blood lines. I will not use that term again on any list. Again, I am sorry if this has offende anyone : - ( Grandma
I don't know how I got on the mailing list for BLACK-DUTCH-AMERICA. I certainly did not do it intentionally. PLEASE TAKE ME OFF THE LIST. Thanks, John Givens

Great Post Curtis! I have to say I understand & agree with your points! Thank you for sharing and expressing your views. This is what many of us believe in. It's the close minded ones who lose Curtis, they don't want to accept or absorb the TRUTH of what really was. But some suffered these trials & tribulations and wish to forget them, so they choose not to discuss or express. I have to say I've experienced much when I asked older family members. It hurts them to speak about it or to even explain what happened to my grandparents and the ancestors who were forced off the lands due to the INDIAN RE-LOCATION ACTS. It's up to us the new generations to teach & express to those who wish to learn of their heritage & ancestry to do this! We will keep the TRUTH prevailing by passing the TRUTH onto each generation of children who come from this mystery called BLACK DUTCH or MELUNGEON and so on. We have a choice, We know the TRUTH, We can make a difference for our CHILDREN! Good job Curtis. You have a big heart & beautiful spirit brother, keep up the good work, it will pay off in the long run. blessings, Turtle/
Many have used this term, for it was passed on from ancestors to future generations irregardless if to our true ancestral identities. It's an option .......What do you feel comfortable with? I tell you I use the term and I have to go into an long explanation (people don't know what the heck I'm talking about) unless they lived in the south..hehehe I use the term, but have learned to say it was a term used for those mixed of color whether it be NA or AA or both with other races to avoid persecutions of the past. People find interest and usually want to learn more or are very intrigued with it. Let's sum this up to being a personal preference for those who come from the ancestrys of those folks who used this term. Just 1 turtle's opinion / view.....hehehe blessings, Turtle/
