Yes, I am sure it is a gedcom file. It imports into Legacy just fine but I wanted to do a side by side comparison using that feature in Brother's Keeper, which is the program I normally use. Are you positive you are using a *.ged file and not a *.ftw file since you said it was Family Tree Maker? A lot of times over the years someone has sent me what they thought was a gedcom file from FTM and I've had to have them recreate the file as a gedcom. Exactly what steps are you going through? Patty
