In 1984, I purchased my first computer from IBM. Once it was received, I had no idea what to do with it. About that time, or shortly thereafter, the TV program "Roots" was very popular. Now I knew what to do with my computer.....genealogy. A shareware program by Melvin O. Duke called Genealogy on Display (GOD) was obtained and I was off and running. Fast forward to 2010. The 5 1/4" floppies and the program had gone unused for over 25 years and now it was time to renew my interest in genealogy. Melvin O. Duke was nowhere to be found. Enter John Steed. Not only did he have a 5 1/4" disk reader, but he offered to convert my data to GEDCOM. All I had to do was send John the disks, which I did reluctantly. Shortly thereafter, John came through with his offer and I thought, why not give BK a try. With service like that, how could I go wrong? As they say, "The rest is history." Thanks John.
