John: I am creating a gedcom to send to a cousin. This will be records from my mother and her ancesters. The creation works fine but there are a couple of questions that arise out of the creation of the file. If I ask for "Ancestors of a Person plus family of each Ancestor" and my starting ancestor, my mother, has siblings, some of which married, the gedcom does not appear to copy the wife of a sibling. Should it? When the gedcom is redisplayed in BK, the media files are all shown under the Pictures tab. All the strings still point to the original files BK numbers and media or picture folders. As I want to send the associated media files and picture files along with the gedcom, does the creation of the gedcom create a file/files of the media and picture data which is written on the gedcom. If not, is there any way that maybe that could be looked at in the future. It would make it much easier to add those files as an attachment jpg so that the other person could link the data and the relative media/picture files into whichever program they are using. At the moment, one has to go through the gedcom file looking for whichever media file/picture file is displayed and then copy off the file itself for transfer as an attachment.
