John, I did pretty much as you suggested . . . checked out the new ged by loading that database seeking points of logical connection and determined which connections were significant and jotted down the numbers. Then went to the normal comparison setup and compared the common points. The new ged had only 700 records to compare to my 13700 records so what I started doing wasn't going too badly. The new ged had a great many records which needed to be picked up so using that on the left and seeking a match identified those of no match . . . never finished that course of action . . . need to finish up later. Too many collateral lines which I should have some day. If the program is NOT finding anyone when you click "find two people that need to be checked starting wtih 1" (or continue at the bottom) then tell me if the person with the new connections on the right side has a birth date and if the first and last name are the same or not. Also click the Options button at the top to see if you have it set for exact name match or first and last or what exactly. Also what dates is it trying to match.
